Where did the last 3 months go? The countdown to Christmas has gone by in a flash - as it always does. There’s so much organising to be done it’s easy to forget something, which only means you spend Christmas Day frantically trying to sort it.

To try and stop that happening, we’ve put together a complete Christmas checklist, to make your day filled with love, merriment and wine instead of stress and too much sweating…

Shop Christmas

1. Finish the shopping

First things first! Before you get lost in the details of the day itself, make sure the biggest job is ticked off your list: buying the gifts. Stick to your budget and don’t panic-buy: think quality over quantity. All you need is a little something to make them smile 🙂

2. Sort your food and drink out

Once the presents are sorted, it’s a good idea to start thinking about what kind of food and drink you’d like to indulge in. Planning ahead for your grocery shop(s) will help make sure you don’t end up turkey-less on Christmas Day.

If you’re stretched for time, shopping online is a great tactic in the crazy run-up to Christmas. EAGER, a fully online juice company, is offering you the chance to win a festive bundle, featuring their famous juices alongside some of our gorgeous homeware. Simply click here to enter.

3. Get gift wrapping

This is where the fun starts! Bring your gifts to life with festive wrapping paper, washi tape & rolls of twine - and make receiving them even more exciting. Save yourself the stress of last-minute wrapping and get those presents under the tree asap!

4. Keep the kids occupied

If you really want to be organised this year, it’s worth thinking about how to keep the kids occupied - not just on Christmas Day, but throughout the school holidays. Whether it’s traditional games, arts and crafts or Christmas baking with the whole family, it’ll pay off to have a plan up your sleeve when they start running riot around your home!

5. Decorate the table

How many of our Christmas Days revolve around the roast dinner? It’s the ultimate festive tradition, and one that feels all the more special when it’s brought to life with bright and colourful table decorations

Think about how you’d like your dining table to look - elegant, retro or full-on Christmas-mania? Get stuck in and make the most of the best meal of the year!

6. Prepare for a visit from Santa

Clear the chimney, get your hands on some milk and cookies, even download a Santa-tracking app! Do everything you can in advance to make sure, on Christmas Eve, that the house is ready for a visit from St. Nicholas. There’s only so many years the kids will get stuck into this, so don’t waste them!

7. Make the most of family time

It’s easy to forget in the chaos of it all, that Christmas is all about the people you love, really. While bringing the whole family together isn’t always easy, it’s important to try and make the most of the time you’ve got.

So try to uphold those traditions you can feel slipping away, or introduce a new one with playing cards, mulled wine and mince pies. That extra thought you put in can make all the difference on the day.
