How to throw a stress free kids party
We all know children’s parties can prove stressful and costly, so we’ve found 5 easy ways for you to create the perfect party whilst keeping reasonable costs for invites, decorations and food.
1. Pretty up the place with party decorations
Presentation is everything, so use your imagination and get some ideas from Pinterest and other designed focused blogs.
When you're decorating it’s easy to find yourself buying the accessories of the character your child adores and plastering it all over the place. To save on costs, get creative, use pastel coloured decorations so it’s easy to mix and match.
Combining the two is the easiest way to go if you want to incorporate something character focused for your child, and it’s a lot cheaper and more unique. You can pick up so many different types of colourful decorations to hang up, from party festoon lights to paper honeycombs, and garlands with pretty fabric buntings.
All you need to decorate the table is a little imagination. Using items like teacups, tablecloths and mason jars found around the house can add a bit of charm and sophistication to the party table. For a large party, try decorating the table with paper plates and cups so you won’t find your sink full to the brim with crockery and cutlery from the party the next day.
2. Get crafty with party invitations

3. Keep the party drink and food fast and easy
Buffet food is always a winner, especially as a lot of children can be fussy eaters - Finger foods are ideal for kids, so think hotdogs, mini pizzas, sandwiches, fruit and vegetables.
Going to big supermarkets and getting them already made can take the pressure off and it can save you a lot of time, so keep that in mind.

Make the drinks as fun as possible from kids mocktails to a large dispenser with their favourite juice where they can dispense their own drinks themselves.
Adding fun colourful straws and cocktail accessories make those summer drinks appealing to your little party goers, maybe try using different styles of straws so they know which cup belongs to them.
4. Bring the party together with games
It’s all fun and games!
Old games are always the best - From pin the tail on the donkey to pass the parcel, they cost next to nothing so reward your little winners as they will very much appreciate it. They’ll leave the party with an extra wide smile on their face.
For a big disco party, stick on a party CD and get them to do musical statues, musical chairs or just a big dance off against two teams, think old school b-boys and girls.
We recommend giving first, second and third place trophies for the top movers and shakers.
For those hot summer parties, get the kids to bring their own water guns and make up teams where they have to drench the opposing team, you could always pack their party bags with inexpensive mini water guns like our ones.
Getting the older generation to participate in competitive party games is a fun way to get the older and younger guests to bond together. We recommend our quirky outdoor games to get everyone involved.
5. Think about goody bags
Keep party bags as simple as possible. Just a few things like bouncy balls, bubbles, pencils and a slice of birthday cake is enough for the kids to be happy with.
A strong bit of advice here is to get everything you can as far in advance as you can, apart from food and drink. But things like decorations and party bag fillers will prove to take the edge off come big the big day.
Keeping within budget can prove to be a little difficult but with our summer sale now on, it can make the party less stressful.
