If you want these cute little bookmarks to actually show the cat sticking up out of your book's pages you need to unfold them. At this point they are just like any other bookmark and the magnetic feature is no longer available. If you do want to use them to act as a magnet you slide the bookmark over the pages and they work but you can't tell that it's a cat you've got marking your page until you open the page. But very cute.
These are going to make great presents this year along with a book or book voucher, they will give that extra personal touch for cousins and daughter's friends.
